Latest Technology to Keep your Patients' Credit Card Information Secure and Best Practices to Improve your Account Receivables

In this era of hacking and security breaches, the world of credit cards and electronic payments is rapidly changing.

This presentation will highlight new technologies including Apple Pay, a fully secure contactless payment method that is in a position to eventually replace the traditional wallet. EMV "chip cards" that authenticate credit and debit card transactions will be discussed. Also presented will be the process of tokenization, in which financial and other sensitive records are transferred between parties in reordered strings of letters and numbers. Beginning Oct. 1, 2015, merchants will be responsible for fraud losses if they don't process chip-enabled credit cards at EMV card readers.

Suggestions will be offered for adherence to the Payment Card Industry–Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This series of security based compliance requirements are designed to place controls around cardholder data in order to guard against payment card fraud. A question and answer session will follow.
