LEAN Sigma Green Belt For Healthcare Professionals:

The LEAN Sigma Green Belt for Healthcare Professionals is a 3 day course that combines the principles of waste elimination and empowerment found in LEAN organizations with the robust problem-solving tools of Six Sigma.  This course will afford participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using the most powerful tools available to LEAN Sigma professionals around the world.  All classes will consist of a mixture of lecture and hands-on activities designed to enhance the learning environment and increase retention.  The first day of training will be during the Annual Conference, 09/17/14. The second day of training is scheduled for 10/15/14 at Boise State's Imagination Lab and the third day of training is to be held on 11/12/14. You must participate in all 3 days of training and complete a project to become Green Belt Certified.

Day 1: LEAN Principles in a Healthcare Environment

Day 2: Statistical Process Control

Day 3: Root Cause Analysis with Statistical Tools

Online Training: Green Belt Project Management, Team Dynamics, Advanced LEAN Tools

As an added bonus:

Participants will have the opportunity to work through a project of their choosing within their own workplace.  Instructors will be available for project coaching throughout the duration of the course.

Participants who attend all sessions will also receive a certificate of completion from Boise State University’s Center for Professional Development including 3 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). If you are attempting to obtain your CMPE, you may count actual class hours toward your continuing education hours.

Participants are encouraged (not required) to bring laptops on days 2 & 3.  We will provide a 6-month trial of an Excel add-on (called QI Macros) for rapid statistical analysis.  Having a personal/work laptop will allow students to take what they do home with them.
