Jana's presentation will focus on local and national audit updates for government contractors. and risk areas involved with EMR's and strategies for providers to 'self audit'.  Jana will also provide an easy to understand overview of the 2 Midnight Rules as at applies to admitting providers. Jana is the Principal of Gill Compliance Solutions, LLC a Boise based healthcare consulting company that leads physicians both regionally and nationally through the complex world of reimbursement by helping them to accurately code for appropriate reimbursement.  Her team also assists providers with government payment appeals, providing risk assessments, performing due diligence for hospital physician integrations and conducting revenue analysis for hospitalist and other physician specialty services.  Her company is also involved in the emerging development of mobile coding applications for physician and hospitalist services. Jana also serves as a direct Consultant to Wolters Kluwer, an international publically traded company that provides, among other things, tools and content to physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems and other entities to help them more efficiently, effectively and profitably run their businesses. Jana has spent several years on the Mediregs Coding Advisory Board and is currently on the software advisory team for Context 4 Healthcare. 

As her previous role as a Director of Coding and Compliance with Medical Management Inc, she managed over 300 NW based physicians in multiple areas of compliance.  She provided direction for both Federal and State audits; risk assessments for hospital acquired physician practices and developed educational tools for coders and physicians of all specialties.  Jana also served as a manager for a national healthcare consulting firm providing expert support for national counsel in compliance and fraud investigations along with self-disclosures and claims review.

She has more than eighteen years of experience in healthcare including coding, compliance, mergers & acquisitions, physician integrations and healthcare litigation.

Jana was a Rotary International Scholar which allowed her to earn an (International Diploma) of Commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.   She also holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting from the College of Idaho. She has served several years on the Wolters Kluwer (Mediregs) Coding Advisory Board, past President and founder of the Idaho AAPC Chapter and software development team for Context 4 Healthcare.  She’s a national speaker for chapters of the MGMA, AAPC and Wolters Kluwer.   She’s also contributed to multiple healthcare newsletters and publications including the CCH & MediRegs Coding Compliance Advisor Newsletter and blog.

She proudly supports her community through youth Learning Service projects, local charity fundraisers and volunteering at the FUMC Friendship Feast outreach programs.
