"ReWork the Joy at Work"

Physicians are the driving force in healthcare; however, job satisfaction is spiraling downward, and over 50% report signs and symptoms of burnout. One physician a day commits suicide. The impact to healthcare professionals, organizations, and the American healthcare system is immeasurable.

Join us for a discussion on how to recognize and address burnout – in physicians, yourselves, and the team. By the end of the presentation, attendees will learn how to recognize signs, symptoms and physiology of burnout, manage their response to stressful event, and be ready to take action with (at least ) one technique to hold burnout at bay.

Presented By:

Charles "Chuck" Hulse, MBA, FACMPE
Chief Operating Officer, Medical Management, Inc. (MedMan)

Charles "Chuck" Hulse, MBA, FACMPE is the COO of Medical Management, Inc. (MedMan) in Boise, Idaho. MedMan provides practice management and consulting services to physician organizations - dedicated to “improving the lives of physicians”. No stranger to MGMA, he has served on numerous state and national committees, and has been President of two State MGMA Associations. Chuck is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), and if you ask him he will wax on about the importance of your “MGMA” network.

Chuck has held senior management positions responsible for the “red headed step children born to health systems", and has worked in the “do more with less” healthcare environment since before the first Blue Astro turf was installed at Albertson’s stadium. Leadership concepts and self-mastery have been a focus throughout his career, recently completing the Train the Trainer program on The Success Principles, a program based on the Best Selling book by Jack Canfield, and is enrolled in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Joy and Work learning module.

Learning recently that we lose a physician a day to suicide in the United States, he teamed up with Dr. Epperly, President/CEO of Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, and they have addressed the topic of Physician Burn-Out and Restoring the Joy in Medicine to local physician organizations and MedMan clients. Chuck knows first-hand that burnout is not limited to physicians and providers of healthcare and is here to share tips and techniques for you and your team to hold burnout at bay.
