"Industry Audit Trends for a Busy Medical Practice"

The vast acceptance of the electronic health record through “meaningful use” from 2011 to 2016 greatly accelerated change across the healthcare industry. This national implementation of electronic health records carried both positive and negative aspects for clinics and health systems. The concerns continue to echo throughout the industry from providers being taken away from patient care to the current record integrity with electronic formatting and final documentation.

We will explore the vulnerabilities that your busy medical practice may be up against through the Common Error Rate Testing (CERT) Program and Medicare Documentation Guidelines. Interpretation of these federal guidelines play a key role with internal compliance. Attendees will learn the fundamentals every practice faces in documentation with an in-depth look at EHR compliance and areas of audit focus.
