"The Do's and Don'ts of Becoming a Better Leader"

Join us for a discussion on some of the tactics and traits that may help administrators and their teams become better leaders. Presenters will also discuss some of the characteristics managers should avoid as leaders, with real life situations given as examples. As we better recognize the do’s and don’ts behaviors, we can adapt our leadership to get the most out of ourselves and our teams.

David Bishop has worked at St. Luke’s for over 20 years in a variety of leadership positions. His leadership experience includes: Site Manager for St. Luke’s Internal Medicine, Practice Manager for St. Luke’s Idaho Cardiology Associates, Sr. Director of Physicians Services, and is currently Senior Director of Operations at St. Luke's Boise Medical Center and Administrator for the St. Luke’s Heart service line.

David received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies from Boise State University and a Masters of Health Sciences – health policy emphasis, from Boise State University. David is also on the board of Faith in Humanity Medical Missions and serves as President for that organization which provides medical, dental, and humanitarian services to Honduras and Central America. He is active in our local community service and participates in the Downtown Boise Rotary Club and volunteers with the St. Luke’s Health Foundation. David is married and has a son and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, white water rafting, restoring classic cars, and spending time with his family.
