2017 Member of the Year
MGMA Idaho's Member of the Year Award honors an MGMA Idaho member who has exhibited exceptional leadership and management proficiency in their practice and community. This year, we were happy to present the 2017 MGMA Idaho Member of the Year Award to Brian Windau, CMPE, Director of Population Health for Primary Health Medical Group at our Annual Awards Dinner yesterday evening.
In being nominated, Brian was recognized for attaining his CMPE certification and leadership in getting all Primary Health Medical Group clinics NCQA certified, as well as for his advanced work at Primary Health towards efforts to transform the health care system from a fee-for-service, volume-based system to a value-based model driven by improved health outcomes. Brian has done a phenomenal job crafting all of Primary Health Medical Group's work to meet the varying parameters for all of the quality measures related to this which are paramount with MACRA/MIPS and value-based care initiatives taking place in the state. Congratulations to Brian Windau, 2017 MGMA Idaho Member of the Year!
2017 Physician Leadership Award
MGMA Idaho's Physician Leadership Award is given to recognize a physician in Idaho who has exhibited outstanding leadership to achieve exceptional medical practice performance in the delivery of health care in his/her practice and community through personal example and collaborative team management. As such, we were happy to present the 2017 MGMA Idaho Physician Leadership Award to Joseph H. Williams, MD, CPI at our Annual Awards Dinner yesterday evening.
In being nominated, Dr. Williams was recognized as being a consummate physician leader, community servant, and example of humility mixed with strength. As a founding member of the Idaho Urologic Institute, he has built an incredible medical practice which truly sets the bar in our medical community. He has served as the President of the Ada County Medical Society, as an Idaho Board of Medicine Member, and been on the advisory board of the proposed Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. Further, Dr. Williams is currently the District IV Trustee of the Idaho Medical Association.
His community involvement spans from organizing the medical badge training for Boy Scouts of America, Main Street Mile to raise support for men’s health, to the Volunteer Physicians Network. As a leader, he listens closely before speaking, and hands out strong encouragement to those he leads. Congratulations to Dr. Williams, 2017 Physician Leadership Award recipient!
2017 Community Health Award
MGMA Idaho's Community Health Award is given to recognize an organization that has made innovations to improve the health of the community in Idaho, and we were happy to present the 2017 MGMA Idaho Community Health Award to the Valor Health Wound Care Clinic at our Annual Awards Dinner yesterday evening.
In being nominated, Dr. T.J. Martin, DPM, and Staci Rogers, RN, Certified Wound Care Nurse, were recognized for creating a wound care center of excellence in Gem County with excellent team-based patient care. Patients of Gem County, many of them suffering from diabetes, no longer have to travel into Boise and surrounding communities to get care for wounds.
The clinic serves the 18,000-plus people in Gem County, including patients who present to the emergency department, have complicated surgery, or are referred by their primary care provider. In addition to the highest-level clinical care, patients of the Valor Health Wound Clinic frequently comment they love coming to the clinic because of the friendly and caring staff. The dedication of Dr. Martin, Staci, and the team at the clinic have made a real difference for a very vulnerable patient population in Gem County. Congratulations Valor Health Wound Care Clinic!
