Edward McEachern, MD
Medical Director, PacificSource Health Plans

Edward McEachern, MD serves as medical director for Medicare programs at PacificSource Health Plans. In this role, he sets PacificSource’s clinical direction, and manages operational, logistical, and clinical review activities for the Medicare health services department from its Boise office.

Dr. McEachern most recently served as chief medical officer and executive director of operations at Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance. Prior to that, he led a venture capital fund that focused on healthcare and served as CMO for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ohio.

An associate professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine and an assistant professor at Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, McEachern holds six patents, has authored seven books, has published 40 peer-reviewed articles, and has served as a healthcare consultant for the U.S. State Department and Peace Corps.
